What makes CollectIT different from other debt collection agencies?

In short …. Results!

And of course a commitment to our clients. At CollectIT we are very focused on getting results for our clients. The reason they’ve engaged our services is because they need cashflow and need to be paid for the work they’ve done. We understand that and work very hard to achieve outstanding results.

Can I add debt collection costs onto the amount of money my debtor owes and get them to pay my costs?

You can add collection costs onto the debt only if it is in your business’ terms of trade and the debtor has been made aware of this prior to your engagement to supply goods or services to them. If there are no terms that state debt collection costs can be recouped, then the fees can not be added to the debt.
Remember though, it is still worth chasing your debtor and getting paid the majority of your invoice as opposed to losing 100% if the debtor doesn’t pay you at all.

How do I find someone if they’ve done a runner?

There are a few steps you can take yourself to locate your debtor. Look up the white pages, google their name, check the electoral role, facebook and linkedin. If your debt is large enough it is often worthwhile hiring a private investigator.
