Terms of trade set out the agreement or contract between you and the customer. They govern the contractual relationship between you. It is imperative that you establish your terms of trade and credit right at the beginning of the business relationship.

The reason you have terms of trade and terms of credit is so that you can rely on them later if there is a default by the customer.
